Joan Elaine Basalla, 86, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died May 22, 2021 in Wheeling Hospital.

She was born February 12, 1935 in Cambridge, Ohio a daughter of the late Paul C. Stillion and Beatrice Karas Stillion.

Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a catholic by faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Basalla; a son, Gary Basalla and a sister, Dorothy Gregory.

Surviving are two children, David Basalla and Cyndi (David) Spong; two grandchildren, Adam (Missie) Spong and Garrett (Rossi) Spong; two great grandchildren, Elijah and Dominic Spong; three brothers, Richard Stillion, Raymond (Linda) Stillion and Ronald Stillion; a sister, Sylvia Stillion; nieces and nephews; and her favorite cat, Tootsie.

Private services will be held in Warnock Cemetery with Father Dan Heusel officiating.  Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home.
