WILLIAMS, Jerry A., 74, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died Monday, April 25, 2011.
He was born April 27, 1936 in Chauncey, Ohio, son of the late Rev. Max W. Williams and Ouida Belle Simmons Williams.
Jerry retired in 1996 from The Kroger Company after 38 years. He was the Area Manager overseeing 15 stores in the Ohio Valley at the time of his retirement. He formerly served on the Salvation Army Board; the Upper Ohio Valley United Way; the St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce Board; and the West Liberty University Foundation Board; OVAC Foundation and member of the Saints & Sinners Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Williams.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanette Shumway Williams; two daughters, Lucinda Cindy (Mike) Harvey of Campbellsville, Kentucky and Sandra Sandy (Jamie Gaffney) Williams of Bexley, Ohio; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Scott) Greenwell of Lebanon, Kentucky; four brothers, Don (Carolyn) Williams, Mike (Terri) Williams, Joe (Joyce) Williams and Paul (Jill) Williams all of Dayton, Ohio.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Thursday from 4 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m., with Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating.
Graveside services will also be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Hilltop Cemetery in Millfield, Ohio in Athens County.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army or the Tri-County Help Center.
