Jerry E. Lindner, 72, of Barnesville, Ohio died March 2, 2017 in Barnesville Hospital.
He was born June 12, 1944 in Wheeling, West Virginia, son of the late Ernest A. Lindner and Betty Mae Roberts Lindner.
Jerry was a retired equipment specialist for the U.S. Department of Defense and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the 101st Airborne Division, 10 Special Forces. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and working on electronics. He was a member of the American Legion Post 168 in Barnesville.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Dobias and a grandson, Troy Frazier.
Surviving are his wife, Joy Wolf Lindner; children, Amy (Eric) McManamay of Lewisburg, West Virginia, Jonathan Lindner of Jacobsburg, Ohio and Wendell (Christina) Frazier of Portland, Indiana; a brother, Patrick Lindner of Glen Dale, West Virginia; five grandchildren, Ashley Phipps, Collin Iles, Michaella Iles, Ian McManamay and Alyson McManamay; two great grandchildren, Kaley and Liam; a niece and nephew.
Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
