Jennie C. Menoski, of St. Clairsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Cumberland Pointe Care Center.

Born, Genevieve Cecelia Serafin, on November 4, 1924, in Stewartsville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Theresa Serafin.

On August 31, 1946, Jennie married Benjamin Jonathan Menoski with whom she enjoyed 38 years of marriage until his passing on July 11, 1984.

She will be sadly missed by her Son, Dennis A. (Peggy) Menoski of St. Clairsville, Ohio and daughter, Monica J. (Russell) Burge of Dover, Ohio.

Also surviving are 3 grandsons; Benjamin (Karen) Burge of Marietta, GA, Andrew (Michele) Burge of Elkridge, MD, and Jeffrey Menoski of St. Clairsville.

She felt very blessed to be able to see her 3 great-grandchildren; Jacob Burge of Marietta, GA, Ayla and Emerson Burge of Elkridge, MD.
Surviving are sister-in-laws, Stella Serafin, Jennie Zann, Helen Lucas and many nieces and nephews.

The last sibling of her family, she was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Menoski on July 11, 1984, 5 brothers; Emil Serafin, John Serafin, Michael Serafin Andrew Serafin, and George Serafin, 2 sisters; Julia Sowinski, and Theresa Ruminski.

Jennie attended the Glencoe Schools and was a lifelong resident of St. Clairsville. She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was also a member of the St. Francis Group.

Jennie worked at Home Pizza, K's Foodland, the Board of Elections for 45 years and also cared for the elderly in their homes for many years. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Holy Land, Rome, and Czechoslovakia. She loved crocheting, taking care of her home, ceramics, bowling and working bingo. Jennie also loved traveling to the local Octoberfests, visiting the shrines to the Blessed Mary, seeing the leaves in the fall and most of all left us a legacy of her catholic faith.

Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, 141 S. Marietta St., St. Clairsville on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 5:45 p.m.

Visitation will also be held at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 11:30 a.m. with Father Edward Maxfield the celebrant. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
