Jean Audrey Spear Sharp, 88, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Monday, May 11, 2015 at Forest Hill Nursing Home.
She was born February 13, 1927 in Wheeling, West Virginia, daughter of the late Furmer Elmer Spear and Birdie May Underdonk Spear.
Jean was a retired social worker specializing in foster and adoption services and was a former dental hygienist in Kentucky. She was a member and Elder of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Wheeling. She was a graduate of West Liberty University. Jean was a member of Mended Hearts; she was an avid football fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, OSU Buckeyes and WVU Mountaineers and she was a world traveler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dr. Abram Allin Sharp; a step-daughter, Charlotte Ann Jones.
Surviving are her step-daughter, Imogene (William) Kelley of Fairmont, West Virginia; four step-grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren; several loving cats.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
Services will be held at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Wheeling on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Hardway officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
