Obituary

Janine McCort Bizanovich, 86, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed away at home on April 10, 2017, surrounded by her family.

She was born in St. Clairsville on June 6, 1930, twin daughter of the late Thomas "W.T." and Florence Gallagher McCort. She was a 1948 graduate of Nazareth Academy, Nazareth, Kentucky. Janine's many skills allowed for her decade's long career working in positions as a seamstress, secretary, bookkeeping and telecommunications specialist. She ended her career at the Belmont County Courthouse as "The Voice of the County", a designation given to her in an article in The Times Leader that chronicled her work as telephone operator, greeter, counselor, and friend to countless Belmont County residents and employees. Janine accomplished her other full time job as wife and mother with the same finesse and attention as she did her other work.

A life-long Catholic, she was a member of St. Mary's Church, St. Clairsville, OH. As long as her health permitted, she was a daily Communicant, she served as an Extraordinary Minister of Communion, a Lector and a funeral luncheon volunteer. She also applied her sewing talents to making Baptismal garments for the Church and she was a prayer line partner.

In addition to her parents, Janine was preceded in death by her husband, her friend, her beloved, Pete, in 1996. Also preceding her in death were two sisters; Caroline Hrabak, and Janine's cherished twin, Aldretta "Dee" Mengon. Also, four of her brothers; Abie, Bill, Art and Doug.

She is survived by her three children, Michael (Mary Lee Moore) Bizanovich of Wheeling, WV, Bonnie (Dave) Callipare of St. Clairsville, and Valerie (Jack) Kemo of St. Clairsville. Three grandsons; Mark (Marisa Youst) Callipare, of St. Clairsville, Joshua (Jevy Gambeng) Callipare, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jacob Kemo of Columbus, OH. Two granddaughters; Sarah and Katie Bizanovich of Wheeling WV, and five great-granddaughters; Julia, Brooke, Emma Janine, Genevieve and Sophia Callipare. She is also survived by one brother, Gerald (Maryann Schumacher) McCort of Lloydsville, and six sisters; Therese (Norge) Santin of Akron, OH, Anne Riesbeck of Gahanna, OH, Flo Reirdon of Mahaffey, PA, Regina Flaherty of Columbus, OH, Kay (Lloyd) Mallet of Columbus, OH, and Gerrie (John) Mansuy of St. Clairsville.

Family and friends will be received at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville on Wednesday, April 19th from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 11 a.m. with Father Thomas Chillog the celebrant. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home.
