Obituary

LITTEN, Betty Janie Johnson, 67, of Flushing, died July 20, 2011 in Wheeling Hospital.

She was born February 1, 1944, daughter of Mary Alice Johnson Romshak and the late Kenneth Johnson.

Janie was a former owner and operator of Binns Food Center and former manager of Convenient Food Mart in Flushing. She was a member of the New Athens United Methodist Church; a member of Flushing Fire Dept. Auxiliary for 30 years, and past president of the P.T.O.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Johnson.

Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Marty Litten; her mother, Mary Alice Romshak of New Athens; three sons, Chad E. Litten and Lloyd L. (Leslie) Litten both of Columbus and Richard E. (Dawn) Litten of Flushing; two granddaughters, Kayla and Kasey Litten; a grandson, Kyle Litten; a brother, Rudy Carl Romshak of Cadiz; three sisters, Linda Stine of Cadiz, Deb Ferda of New Athens and Mary Ann Price of Martins Ferry.

Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Sunday from 3 p.m. until time of services at 5 p.m., with Pastor Jon Little officiating. A private committal service will be held in Longview Cemetery, New Athens.
