Canei, Janie Rice, 52, of Midway, Ohio formerly of Georgia, died on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 27, 1955 in Wheeling, West Virginia, daughter of Norma Pech Rice and the late John Edward Rice.

Janie fought a courageous battle against breast cancer and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a Parapro for special needs children at the Bascomb Elementary School in Georgia and attended the Watermarke Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother, Norma Rice of Midway; are her son, Matthew Canei of Woodstock, Georgia; three sisters, Noreen, Nancy and Lorrie; and a brother, Eddie.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Burial was in Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville at which time pink balloons were released in celebration of Janie?s life. Arrangements by Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
