Janice Ann Thornton, 71, of Shadyside, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born October 13, 1952, in Trenton, Michigan, a daughter of the late Eugene Robert Watt and Gereldine Loraine Tewksbury Watt.

Janice was a retired chef. She was a member of the Clarksburg United Methodist Church in Stewartsville. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, and her frogs; but most of all, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the rest of her family. If you knew Janice, you knew she truly was a "gypsy soul with a heart of gold."

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Daryl Wayne "Tiny" Thornton in 2016, and a sister Susan Sealy.

Janice is survived by her children Crystal Thornton, Michelle (William "Bud") Webb, and Jenifer Thornton; a sister, Donna Adkins, two brothers, Theodore Watt, and Dale (Donna) Watt; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her current squeeze, Dave Reiff.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 4 p.m. until time of funeral services at 6 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg with Tyler Harris officiating, Final arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.
