Janet L. Murray Thompson, 83 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Friday, December 5, 2008 at Wheeling Hospital.

She was born June 8, 1925 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Louis Murray and Marie Kubeck Murray.

Janet was the former principal?s secretary at St. Clairsville?Richland Schools, former procedures analyst for Alcoa and U.S. Steel, and former secretary for Allegheny County Pharmaceutical Association, a member of First Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville, and a graduate of Carnegie Mellon?s Margaret Morrison School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Possessky and brother-in-law Edward F. Possessky.

Surviving are her husband, Edwin A, Thompson; son, Scott (Linnea) Thompson of New Concord, Ohio; daughter, Kendall (Russell) Ratcliff of Helena, Montana; 6 grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. where a memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Homer Harden officiating.
