Janet Elaine Petschke, nee: Albaugh, 76, of St Clairsville, Ohio, passed at the home of her loving daughter and care giver on December 4, 2020 at 7:57pm in St Clairsville, Ohio due to complications related to Alzheimer's Disease. She was surrounded by family during her final moments.

Janet was born on Jan. 14, 1944. The eldest daughter of Joseph and Pauline Albaugh of Bellaire, Ohio.

Janet was retired after many years of service working at Kroger.

Janet was the mother of 3 children, Melodie (Woollard) Blozinski of Easton Pa, Marla ( Woollard) Beaver of St Clairsville, and Richard Woollard of St Clairsville.

She was the Grandmother of 7 and the Great-grandmother of one.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband CSM Werner H Petschke, her parents and her brother Lawrence Michael Albaugh.

She is survived by her aforementioned children, grandchildren, and sister Diane (Albaugh) Gianangeli of Bellaire along with several nieces and nephews as well as her faithful companion animal Peyton the Chihuahua.

During her life, Janet overcame much, but never stopped helping others. She was a wonderful mother to her children and a doting, devoted grandmother.  Her selfless, unconditional love for her friends and family knew no bounds. She taught her family, by example, to do good everyday, and treat others kindly.    She was generous, and knew no strangers. She touched the lives of many, and has left this world a better place. Her's was a life well lived.

She will be dearly missed, and never forgotten by all who knew her.

Per her request, there will be no services or viewing.  Janet will be cremated, and interred for her final rest alongside her loving husband at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.  The family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice for their timely and loving care provided to our family member during her time of greatest need. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
