Janet M. Newland, 88, of Bridgeport, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Wheeling Hospital.  She was born August 3, 1934, in Holloway, Ohio, a daughter of the late Fred and Margaret Cush Hammel.

Janet was the former secretary of Halley Newland & Sons Inc.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Halley Newland in 2004; a sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Rudy Painter.

Janet is survived by two sons, Dan (Wendy) Newland of Colerain, Ohio, John Newland of Bridgeport; a daughter, Laura (David) Eckels of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a granddaughter, Leah (Kyle) Stewart of Columbus, Ohio.

At Janet's request, no visitation or services are planned.  Final arrangements at the convenience of the family.
