Janet E. McGee, 89, of Shadyside, Ohio died Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in Shadyside Care Center.
She was born January 19, 1928 in Ellsworth, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Clarence V. Evans and Gertrude Morgan Evans.
Janet was a loving mother and grandmother that loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed trips to the flea markets and antique shows and always liked to make people laugh.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry McGee Sr.; a son Charles H. McGee Jr.; two brothers, Ellison and Jim Evans and a sister, Margaret Jane Fiquris; a step-sister, Anita Needs; three step-brothers, Donald, Carl and Earl McGee.
Surviving are her daughter, Pat (Ralph) Heller of Shadyside; two sons, Richard (Debi) McGee of Martins Ferry and Perry McGee and his friend Vickey Jernigan of Pipe Creek; seven grandchildren, Bobbi Jo (Scott) Kinemond, Missy (Troy) Duffy, Ralph Heller Jr., Dennis (Janet) Heller, Megan (Adam) Wimmers, Erin (Josh) Davis and Shaun (Megan) Ault and sixteen great grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received at the Shadyside Church of the Nazarene, 3758 Leona Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m. with Pastors Dennis Hancock and Pete Walburn officiating. Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg.
Janet's family would like to thank the staffs of Shadyside Care Center and Medi Home Hospice for the wonderful care given to their mother and grandmother.
