Janet Rita Jakubic, 91, of Ruskin, Florida, formerly of St. Clairsville, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 30, 2022.

She was born May 11, 1930, in Bridgeport, Ohio, a daughter of the late William E. Bowen and Mary Covey Matusek.

Janet was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of the East Richland Evangelical Friends Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, feeding and watching birds, sewing, and reading but her main passion was her grandchildren, and they were her number one priority. Her final years were spent happily living with her daughter in Florida, walking her dogs Sugar and Luca and enjoying the sunshine.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Jakubic; a son-in-law, William "Bee" Widmor; a daughter-in-law, Cara L. Baker; a brother, Billy Bowen; and an infant sister, Rosalie Matusek.

Janet is survived by her four daughters, Charmaine Widmor and Charlene (Chet) Baker both of St. Clairsville, Chantal Copeland of Ruskin, Florida and Charena (Dr. James) Minger of St. Clairsville; two sisters, Mary Jo (Joe) Shinoski and Roselynn (Bob) Leone; a brother, John Al (Stephanie) Matusek; six grandchildren, Wendy (Chris) Jackson, Rebecca (James) Johnson, Chester Baker, Jennefer (Kevin) Costlow, Kyle (Katie) Copeland; and Alex Minger; and two great grandchildren, Jermaine (Kayla) Jackson and Connor Baker.

There will be a Memorial Service at East Richland Friends Church on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 12 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Jerry Wenger officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home.
