Obituary

Jane Evelyn Travis Parker, age 84, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 at Bell Nursing Home, Morristown.

She was born November 29, 1920 at Barton Heights, Ohio a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Travis and Pauline Chloe Secrest Travis.

Jane was a retired switchboard operator at the Belmont County Court House in St. Clairsville and a member of East Richland Evangelical Friends Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hardesty Parker and a brother Edward Travis.

Surviving are her three children, Marjorie (Philip) Kress of St. Clairsville, Susan (Gary Kenneth) Slater of Chester, Virginia and Tom Hardesty Parker of Gilroy, California; seven grandchildren, Amy Kress Postlethwait of Columbus, Ohio, Preston Kress of Lloydsville, Ohio, Eric Slater of Dallas, Texas, Julie Slater Webb and Jessica Slater Allietta both of Chester, Virginia, Jodi Parker Williams and Michael Parker both of California; and 6 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating. Burial will follow in Belmont County Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
