James W. Williams, 80, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died July 4, 2016 in Adena Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on October 28, 1935, son of the late William Harry Williams and Elizabeth Kovach Williams.
James was retired from Copperweld Steel in Warren, Ohio. He was a former union official in the Steel Workers Union Local # 2243 and a U. S. Marine Corps veteran serving from 1953 to 1955.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Williams.
Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Thelma Dyson Williams; three children, Ken (Karen) Williams of Cortland, Ohio, Glenn Williams of St. Clairsville and Lisa (John) Hiester of Cary, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Brandon (Jenn) Williams, Kelley (Bill) Mekker, Jena Williams, Amanda and Ashley Hiester.
Per Jim's wishes, a caring cremation has taken place and there will be a private service at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
