James Norman Wetzel, age 80, formerly of St. Joe, Ohio, died Friday, December 9, 2005 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. He was born November 2, 1925 in Cadiz, Ohio, son of the late Clyde and Esther Keys Wetzel.
James was a retired iron worker from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. He was an avid fisherman and a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Edna Abrams Wetzel; and a sister, Marcella Weisman.
Surviving are his brother, Ralph Wetzel of Old Washington, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Ann Mangus of Salesville, Ohio and Aileen Lukacena of Bloomingdale, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio with Rev. Mark Slay officiating.
