James Delbert McGilton, 77, of Bellaire, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at his home. He was born August 18, 1947, in Glencoe, Ohio, a son of the late Delbert B. McGilton and Rose Cecelia Roque McGilton.

James was a retired Correctional Officer for 32 years at the West Virginia Penitentiary. He proudly served his country as a United States Navy SEAL during the Vietnam War. He was a Methodist by faith.

He is survived by his two children, Matthew and Brent McGilton; two sisters, Marjorie Prisner and Sharon Van Horn; and one grandson.

Private services were held at Belmont County Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
