James F. Marr, 70, of Bellaire, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at home. He was born January 1, 1955, in Martins Ferry, OH a son of the late Walter Marr and Helen Kubica Marr.

James was a former coal miner and had worked at Ohio Valley Medical Center for over 40 years. He took pride in his mechanical abilities, finding joy in everything from working on cars and painting them, to working on equipment like AC units and bulldozers. James was a long-time parishioner of both St. Mary's Church in St. Clairsville, and St. John's in Bellaire. He was defined by hard work, faith, and family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Richard Marr, Walter Marr Jr., and Thomas Marr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Marr; his son, Jim (Shawn) Marr; a brother, John (Melanie) Marr; a sister, Antoinette Marr Korba; a granddaughter Kayla (Justin) Woody; a great grandson, Jace Woody; special niece Mary (Roy) Romshak; and special nephew Mike (Melissa) Marr.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, on Thursday, December 18th, 2025, from 10 am, until time of service at 11 am with Fr. Dan Heusel officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire, OH.
