James Lloyd “Jimmy” Kugler Jr., 66, of New Athens, Ohio, died June 11, 2026 in Valley Hospice, Mary Jane Brooks Care Center North, Steubenville, Ohio.

He was born May 9, 1960, in Dennison, Ohio, son of the late James Lloyd and Grace Denhart Kugler.

Jimmy was a truck driver and mechanic, having worked as a self-employed trucker as well as HLC Trucking, Clear Fork Trucking, and Matusek Trucking. He was a 1979 graduate of Cadiz High School. His hobbies included: cars, trucks, NASCAR, wrestling and working on plastic models.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sharon Barto and Brenda Maroni.

Jimmy is survived by his son, James A. Kugler, a brother, Bobby (Kendra) Kugler, and nieces and nephews, Mikey Barto, Tony Maroni, Ashley Barto, Henry J. Kugler, Hosiah Kugler and Piper Kugler.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
