Obituary

John Charles “Jack” Snider, 84, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born May 21, 1942 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a son of the late John P. and Minnie C. Jack Snider.

Jack retired from the former Saginaw Coal Mine in St. Clairsville as a welder and electrician, following his retirement, he operated the Snider Furnace Service serving many families throughout the area. Jack was a little league baseball coach for many years and enjoyed bailing hay. He was a proud member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard, Ohio and transferred to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Colerain, Ohio. He was an Officer for CSA Lodge 121.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, James “Sonny” Snider, Shirley Lewis, Claire Shipley and Mary Kay Kelley.

Surviving are his loving wife, Bonita “Bonnie” Banal Snider of St. Clairsville; five children, Greg (Audrey) Snider of Jacobsburg, Ohio, Gary Snider of Yorkville, Ohio, Gloria Roberts of Martins Ferry, John (Karen) Snider of Salisbury, Maryland and Greta (Rob) Brown of New Philadelphia, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; a brother, Terry Lee (Bonnie) Snider of Georgetown, Ohio.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 3-7 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with a Vigil Service at 3;30 pm.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 am at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Chillog as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
