Jack E. Brestle, age 73, of St. Clairsville died Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH. He was born September 12, 1929 at Bridgeport, Ohio, son of the late Edward and Sarah Robb Brestle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Pauline King Brestle; a daughter, Vicki Armantrout of St. Clairsville; a son, Keith Brestle of Belmont; three grandchildren, Bryce Armantrout of Huron, Ohio, Morgan and Tyler Armantrout both of St. Clairsville; a sister, Mary Foster of Dunedin, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
He retired a T/Sergeant after 20 years of military service from the U. S. Air Force; he was also retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation.
Jack was a member of the East Richland Friends Church; the American Legion Post # 159; a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 5356 and a member of Belmont Lodge # 16 F. & A.M. all of St. Clairsville.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Wenger officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville. Full Military Graveside Services will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of VFW?s. Masonic services will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
