Irene M. VanCuren, 87 of Flushing, Ohio died Monday, February 20, 2006 at her home. She was born July 16, 1918 in Holloway, Ohio a daughter of the late Charles and Carrie Rhodes Webster.
She was a member of the Flushing Presbyterian Church, a former owner of Dave and Rene?s Restaurant, a member of Freeport Chapter 319 Order of the Eastern Star formerly Flushing Chapter, a chairlady of the Belmont Co. Democratic Party, a member of the Cripple Children Society, Flushing Garden Club, Holloway Old-Timers, Flushing Firemen?s Auxiliary, Ruritan Club and a poll worker for over 25 years.
As a young girl she enjoyed basketball and was on the Holloway Basketball Team when they won the State Championship.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David in 1985; two sons, Robert and Donnie; two sisters, Nellie Cordner and Dolores Webster; a brother, Kenneth Webster.
Surviving are a daughter, Vicki (John) Hawkins; a grandson, William Hawkins all of Flushing; two brothers, Jason (Roseann) Webster of Barnesville and Phillip (Sondra) Webster of Philadelphia, PA; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob Merritt officiating. Burial follows in Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing.

Eastern Star services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
