MILLS, Irene Brown, 79, of Powhatan Point, Ohio, formerly of Pipe Creek, died January 21, 2012 at her home.

Irene was born at her home February 25, 1932 daughter of the late Lawrence B. and Leota Doty Brown.

She was a housewife and a loving mother and grandmother. She was a Christian by faith and a member of Church Alive in Key, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Mills and a son, Roger Mills.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Jean Jackson of the home and Bertha Kay (Robert) Reed of Shadyside; a son, Joseph (Shari) Mills of Powhatan Point; three sisters, Virginia Palmer and Shirley Palmer both of Jacobsburg and Helen Saffle of St. Clairsville; a brother, Lawrence Brown of Bellaire; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great granddaughters; a great grandson; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeff W. Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow in Jacobsburg Cemetery.
