Irene Theresia Erna Horvath, 77, of Flushing, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at WVU Medicine Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, Ohio. She was born October 23, 1948 in Landsberg, Germany, a daughter of the late Steve John and Erna Schilcher Bobot.

Irene was the owner/operator of Country Carryout in Flushing for many years and a Catholic by faith. She spent many hours at the Carryout, but in the time that she had, she enjoyed bowling at the New Athens Bowling League, reading, puzzles, music and a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and OSU Buckeyes. Irene’s absence leaves an unmeasurable void in the lives of those who loved her. Her memory will be cherished and she will be deeply missed every day.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Bobot.

Surviving are her husband, Paul Martin “Marty” Horvath; two children, Christopher (Chantelle) Horvath and Ryan (Colleen) Horvath all of Flushing; four siblings, Linda (Michael) Neff of Flushing, Stefan (Theresa) Bobot of Belmont, Ohio, Raymond (Carolyn) Bobot of Holloway, Ohio and Greg (Melody) Bobot of St. Clairsville, Ohio; one granddaughter, Ainsley Horvath.

As per her request, no visitation or services are planned, final arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family.
