TRAVIS, Iona V., 81, of Glencoe Road, Jacobsburg, died Feb. 17, 2011 in Belmont Community Hospital, Bellaire.

She was born Aug. 24, 1929 in Shadyside, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Lena Ady Palmer.

Iona was a retired employee of Belmont County Childrens Services and a member of Clarksburg United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Travis; two sisters, Evelyn McGarry and Geraldine Spence; two brothers, Sanford David Palmer and Earl Palmer.

Surviving are her son, Tom Travis of Lafferty; her daughter, Patricia (Bernie) Brandon of Jacobsburg; two grandsons, Jason Brandon and Aaron Travis; three sisters, Bernadine Bert Burghy of St. Clairsville, Emily McGilton of Stewartsville and Helen Kasik of Bridgeport.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Warnock Cemetery.
