Howard A. McFarland, 87, of St. Clairsville, OH., passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at his home.  He was born July 18, 1936 in Martins Ferry, OH., a son of the late Howard H. and Sybil Barnhart McFarland.

Howard was a retired foreman with the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, Martins Ferry Plant, a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and a U.S. Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith R. Bennington McFarland in 2009; an infant son, Bruce McFarland; a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and James Rine.

Surviving are his sons, Douglas S. (Brenda) McFarland of St. Clairsville and Howard J. McFarland of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, C. Tyler McFarland, Devin Scott McFarland, Taylor (Devin) Overholt and Matthew (Alyssa) McClelland; six great grandchildren, Lila, Lincoln, Remi, Jett, Braxton and Matson.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 6-8 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville and again on Monday from 10 am until time of funeral services at 12 pm with Chaplain Mike Rowe officiating.  Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
