Howard E. Kimes, 80, of Glencoe, Ohio, died Monday, February 29, 2016 at his home.

He was born April 16, 1935 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late A. D. Kimes and June Bonar Kimes.

Howard was a retired coal miner from North American Coal Company and the St. Clairsville School Bus Garage. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved to hunt and fish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lila Lee Eikleberry Kimes.

Surviving are his six children, Beverly Brandon, Joyce (Richard) Brocklehurst, Jeffrey (Teri) Kimes, Joe Kimes, Irene Giesey and Lila (Harry) Wells; four grandsons, Richard Brocklehurst, Michael Kimes, Greg Wells and Kyle Kimes; three great grandchildren, Dakota, Devon and Lily Wells; and his special dog, Coco.

At Howard's request there will be no public services. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
