Herman Frank Schafer, 88 of Alledonia, Ohio died Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at the Monroe County Care Center, Woodsfield.

He was born at Alledonia on June 15, 1915 a son of the late Emma Schafer.

Herman was a retired farmer and school bus driver for the Switzerland of Ohio Schools, a member of Belmont Ridge Christian Church, the National Rifle Association and was a former Washington Township Trustee.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Eileen Wheeler Schafer and two half brothers, Newell and Bob Palmer.

He is survived by his son Stanley (Shirley) Schafer of Alledonia, a half sister, Hannah Underwood of Centerville, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Saturday with Josh Hetrick officiating. Burial follows at the Belmont Ridge Cemetery, Beallsville.
