Helen Vicen, 89, of Shadyside, Ohio died Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Sycamore Medical Center in Miamisburg, Ohio.
She was born August 16, 1927 in Webb, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank Klovanich and Frances Swanovich Klovanich.
Helen was a member of the former Saints Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church in Bellaire, OH and attended Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Moundsville, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Vicen in 2002; three brothers, John, George, and Frank Klovanich; a sister, Ann Baum.
Surviving are two sons, Paul (Gloria) Vicen of Springboro, Ohio and Larry (Susan) Vicen of Jacobsburg, Ohio; two sisters, Stella Tritto of New York, NY and Mary Frazer of Fort Collins, CO; two grandsons, Nick (Ashley) Vicen and Andy (Diana) Vicen.
Helen loved her family, friends, animals and faith. She was a fantastic cook, a fierce Buckeye fan and a dancer until the end.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Services will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 1109 Morton Ave., Moundsville, WV 26041 on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a blessing, followed by public visitation and viewing from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. Burial follows at Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio.
A reception will immediately follow at the Shadyside American Legion Post.
