Obituary

Helen Claritis Troullos, 88, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Forest Hill Nursing Home.

She was born in Astoria, New York on June 17, 1938, a daughter of the late Thrassos Claritis and Stella Panagou Claritis Angeloudakis.

Helen and her husband Ted built a life deeply rooted in faith, family and tradition. She was a devoted and loving wife, mom and yiayia. Her passion for baking was found in her Greek cookies. She faithfully attended her church, St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church in Wheeling and was a role model living her life enriched by her Orthodox faith.

Her working career included working at the Board of Pharmacy in New Jersey and then retiring from Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Helen was active in several organizations including: the Daughters of Penelope where she served many offices including past Grand Governor and past National Advisor of the Maids of Athena; was past president of the Cretan Club; she was a member of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society. She enjoyed her card club and was an avid Buckeyes fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Emanuel "Ted" Troullos; a grandson, Roman Troullos; her stepfather, Nicholas Angeloudakis; an infant brother, brother, George Angeloudakis; sister, Mary Claritis.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Maria (Shawn) Masters of Lewis Center, OH and her son, Michael Troullos of St. Clairsville, OH, She was the proud and loving yiayia, of Theodore Michael “Mikey”, Lucca Emanuel and Rocco Loren Nicholas Troullos; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John The Divine Greek Orthodox Church in Wheeling with Father Demetrios Tsikouris officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church Sanctuary Fund.
