Helen Louise Steadman, 80, of Tomlinson Run Road, Jacobsburg, Ohio, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004 at her home.

She was born Oct. 25, 1923, at Bellaire, a daughter of the late William E. and Lavon Stombaugh Sutton and stepmother Virginia Plunkett Sutton.

Helen was a 1942 graduate of Bellaire High School, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church at Dilles Bottom.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John Charles (Jack) Steadman and two sisters, Martha Rose Wiley and Dorothy Jean Liberati.

Surviving are four children, Charles (Kathy) Steadman of Jacobsburg; Cheryl (James) Tippie of Goldthwaite, Texas; Sandra Wisor and Kathie (Don) Bumgardner, both of Jacobs- burg; one brother, William Sutton of Bellaire; 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Friends may call on Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg, where services will be held Friday, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Larry Helms officiating. Burial follows in Powhatan Cemetery.
