Obituary

Helen Ann Miller of St. Clairsville, died Sunday surrounded by family. Helen went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 15, 2007 after an extended illness.

Helen was born August 22, 1934 to the late John and Stella (Cuchta) Materkoski in Benwood, W.Va. In 1955 she married her loving husband, Edward A. Miller Sr. Together they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family on August 27, 2005. Helen was a Christian and member of St. Mary?s Church in St. Clairsville. She was active in the St. Mary?s Bible Study Group and the St. Mary?s Prayer Group. Helen retired from C & P Telephone Company in 1983 and was a Verizon Pioneers Life Member. Helen enjoyed walking and reading, traveling with her husband and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Anthony in 1921, Frank in 1971, Walter in 1997, Robert in 1998 and her sister, Rose Lorence in 2006.

Surviving are her husband, Edward A. Miller Sr., her daughter, Cheryl Ann and her husband Brig. General John D. Johnson of Ashburn, Va., a son, Edward A. Miller II and his wife Deborah of Howell, MI, a son, David A. Miller and his wife Dr. Sallee Digonno-Miller of Belmont, Ohio, her grandchildren, of whom she was extremely proud, Elizabeth A. Johnson, a student at James Madison University, Kristen L. Miller, Edward A. Miller III and Austin E. Miller of Howell, MI, brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Rose Miller and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 18th from 1 ? 3 and 5 - 9 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville. A Vigil Service will be held on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., with Father Thomas Chillog officiating.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville with Father Christopher Foxhoven the celebrant. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling, W.Va.
