Obituary

Helen Holowasko, 91, formerly of Country Club Road, St. Clairsville died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003 at Forest Hill Care Center in St. Clairsville. She was born June 1, 1912 in Clymer, Pa., a daughter of the late Michael and Pauline Holowasko.
She was a former elementary school teacher in Clymer, Pa. and Long Island, N.Y. A member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Barton, a Navy WAVE during World War II, a volunteer at the St. Clairsville Public Library and a member of the New York and Pennsylvania State Teachers Association.

Surviving are a step-son, Jonathan Ostrow of Nanuet, N.Y.; two grandchildren; four nephews, Ed Klos of St. Clairsville, Bud and Bob Klos of Pittsburgh, and Robert Stevens of Kalamazoo, Mich.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville. Funeral with Divine Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Nicholas Church in Barton with Fr. Michael C. Kabel officiating. Burial follows in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Barton.

A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday and a Panachida service at 9:15 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
