Helen Virginia Massie Fraley, 89, of Clover Ridge, Powhatan Point, Ohio, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Emerald Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center, Barnesville.
She was born March 25, 1927 in Powhatan Point, Ohio, daughter of the late Cleveland Eugene "Pat" Massie and Hattie Gillespie Massie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Robert Fraley; son-in-law, Jerry Lucas; sisters, Eva Brice and Muriel Neff.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda Lucas of Powhatan Point; 2 granddaughters, Lisa Baker of Barnesville and Tricia Lucas (Sam Baker) of Powhatan Point; 2 great grandchildren, Jeremy and Hailey Baker of Barnesville; 3 nieces, Joan (Albert) Caldwell of Jacobsburg, Margaret "Bird" (Larry) Skidmore of Powhatan Point and Shirley (John) Ferry of Leetonia, Ohio.
Helen was a hard-working farmer's wife who was a wonderful cook and well known for her homemade bread. She was a former Belmont County Central Committee Woman for the Democratic Party and a Christian by faith. Helen will be very sadly missed by her family, friends and neighbors and will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m., where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Wayne Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.
