Mrs. Hazel Olive Watt Palmer, 100, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2022 at Bailey Manor in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Ms Hazel was born October 26, 1921 to the late William and Jose Rose Lingo Watt in Jacobsburg, Ohio. She was raised on the family farm. She moved to Columbus, Ohio and worked with the Division of Wildlife until she married the love of her life, James Orville Palmer, and began her career as a homemaker.
She was a lifelong member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Key, Ohio and a 75 plus year member of the Weyer Chapter #515 Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Orville Palmer, her son, James Keith Palmer and bothers Kenneth, Donald and Dwight Watt.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Curtis and Robin Palmer of Cookeville, Tennessee; her daughter in law, Joan Palmer of Athens, Ohio; grandchildren Kelly Gheen, Jessica Allen, Devan Palmer and Kali Whitson; seven great grandchildren and her sister Lillian Rose Smith of Dayton, Ohio; numerous nephews and nieces.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday from 10 am until time of funeral service at 1 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg, Ohio with Pastor Kurt Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff and caretakers of Bailey Manor and Caris hospice for the excellent care Ms Hazel received.
