Harry Leonard Denham, 90, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed Monday, December 28, 2015 at his home. He was born October 14, 1925 in Valley Grove, West Virginia to the late Wilbur and Doretta (Slater) Denham.
Harry served in the United States Navy from 1943-1946 in the South Pacific Theater, proudly serving on the USS Buckingham. He was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church and a retired Department Head with the Kroger Company. He was the devoted husband of 63 years to the late Mary Elizabeth (Winesburg) Denham, the loving father to two children, and the proud PapPap of four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing or an afternoon fishing, taking care of his yard, or just sitting on the porch watching the deer. Most of all, he loved his family and was loved dearly by them. He will be remembered for his kind, gentle spirit, his honesty and integrity, and the selfless love and dedication he showed to those around him. He was blessed with many years and many memories.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Alva and David Denham. He is survived by his brother Clifford Denham (Mary) of Wheeling, WV; Son, Harry Denham Jr. (Elaine) of St. Clairsville; Daughter, Donna Grayhem (Jack) of St. Clairsville; Grandchildren, Scott Grayhem, Pam Pack (JP), Becky Markunas (David), and Ryan Denham; and Great-grandchildren, Rylee and Reid Pack.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday Jan. 1st at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where visitation will also be held on Saturday Jan. 2nd from 10 a.m. until time of Service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Gifford officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
