Obituary

BROWN, Harce M. Sr. Brownie, age 93, of Shadyside, Ohio, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at his home. He was born in Briceville, Tennessee, on June 12, 1917, son of the late Isaac and Martha Ault Brown.

Harce was a retired dispatcher from North American Coal Company # 3 Mine. He was an Army veteran of World War II receiving the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Hillcrest Bible Church in Bethesda; the American Legion, V.F.W. and D.A.V. all in Bellaire.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, George Brown; three brothers; and four sisters.

Surviving are his loving wife of 66 years, Flo Jackson Brown; a daughter, Linda (Rick) McCabe of Bellaire; two sons, Morris (Jo Evelyn) Brown of Lake City, Tennessee and Harce (Sharon) Brown Jr. of Bridgeport; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastors Jack Palmer and Paul Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Bellaire.

Full Military Honor Services will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of American Legions on Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. in the funeral home.
