Obituary

LUYSTER, H. Ray, 70, of Flushing, Ohio died Friday, November 8, 2013 in Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz.

He was born in Piedmont, Ohio on May 4, 1943.

Ray was retired from Consolidation Coal Company Bradford # 16 Mine. He and his wife Phyllis were avid woodworkers and crafters.

In addition to his mother, Violet Luyster Murphy, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Kay Pickering Luyster in 2007.

Surviving are his son, Ray (Lilli) Luyster of Flushing; step children, Debbie Carr, Tom Thompson, Bill Thompson and Dana Gossett; three grandsons, Pierce and Connor Luyster and Danny Prince; four granddaughters, Brittany Thompson, Jenny Gossett, Chrissy Gossett and Dana Nicole Gossett; a sister, Nancy Yoho of Flushing; two brothers, Ron Luyster of Canton and Richard Murphy of Indiana.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until time of Services at 6 p.m., with Rev. Robert Merritt officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Rock Hill Cemetery.
