HUNT, Grace McFarland, 102, widow of W. Thornley Hunt died on Feb. 6, 2013.

Grace graduated from St. Clairsville High School and received a degree from Ohio University in elementary education. She conducted her own pre-school in the late 1930's (decades before pre-school popularity) and was a founding member of the St. Clairsville garden club. She volunteered with many beautification projects in the city, golfed at Belmont Hills Country Club with her friends and family, and actively participated in Calvary Presbyterian Church.

Her love for young children was manifested in her focus on family life and especially her children and their families. She is survived by her daughters Sue McNaghten (Rob) and Pat Rider (Craig); Sue's children Marci and Matthew and Pat's children, John, Karen and Ashley as well as ten great-grandchildren.

Her daughters especially appreciate the devotion of their mother's caregivers during her last years.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church or the St. Clairsville alumni student scholarship fund.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
