Lois Geraldine “Gerry” Steere, 85, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at WVU Wheeling Hospital. Gerry was born September 30, 1940, in the Fulton Neighborhood Section of Wheeling, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Margaret Joseph.

Gerry graduated from South High School in Columbus, Ohio in 1958 and earned her Associate Degree. She retired from the Belmont County Department of Human Services as a supervisor, was a member of Harbor of Hope, Assembly of God Church and the Belmont County Senior Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Schmidt.

Surviving are a son, F. David Steere, Jr.; a granddaughter, Christina (Mathew) Violet; three great grandchildren, Emmett Stillwell, David Violet and Serienity Violet; a sister, Peggy Lucas, all of St. Clairsville; two nieces, Mary (Don) Zink and family and Jody (Greg) Vickers and family.

Private visitation and services will be held on Thursday from 10 am until time of funeral services at 12 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with Pastor Dean Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
