USENICK, Gerald L. Sr., 74, of Glencoe, Ohio died Monday, April 9, 2012 in Heartland-Lansing Nursing Home.
He was born February 5, 1938 in Glencoe, Ohio, son of the late Lawrence Usenick Sr. and Fadie Saffell Usenick.
Gerald was a retired employee of Consolidation Coal Company McElroy Mine and former owner and operator of Hometown Market in Glencoe. He was a former school bus driver for St. Clairsville-Richland City Schools; a former painter for Harvey Goodman Realtor; and a former cab driver for Wagner's Taxi Service. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who had a passion for old cars.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sister, Sylvia Marie Smith and an infant sister; and a granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Usenick.
Surviving are his loving wife, Mary Lou Bumgardner Usenick; three sons, Gerald (Bridget) Usenick Jr. of Belmont, Larry (Karen) Usenick of Glencoe and Dave (Jackie Wright) Usenick of Blaine; two brothers, Lawrence "Buck" Usenick Jr. of Tuscon, Arizona and Limpford "Lindy" Usenick of Holloway; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., where services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m., with Rev. John Jackson officiating.
Burial will be in Warnock Cemetery with a dinner to follow at the Glencoe American Legion.
