Obituary
George Rimel, 75, of Pipe Creek, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003 at Belmont Community Hospital in Bellaire. He was born March 12, 1928, in Bellaire, son of the late George and Lillian Rimel.
He was a retired coal miner from Consolidation Coal Company, Ireland Mine at Moundsville, and was a member of the United Church of God, Wheeling. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Gilbert Rimel; and sister Lillian Halpenny.
Surviving are his wife, Emma M. Worley Rimel; a daughter, Nancy Rimel of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Elder William Hadley officiating. Burial will be in Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio.
