George Franklin Reed, 61, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born August 24, 1965 in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late Harold Eugene and Nancy B. Hamilton Reed.

George retired as a Direct Support Professional for Paramount Support Services in St. Clairsville, Ohio. He enjoyed music, reading, cooking and the fun trips to Canaan, West Virginia with family. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved his two cats, Chloe and Ivy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Christy; a sister, Nannette Podubynsky.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy A. Chambers Reed of St. Clairsville; a son, Steven Tanner of Morristown, Ohio; several cousins, nieces and one nephew.

As per his request, no visitation or services will be held. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions mat be made to The Special Olympics.
