Miller, George W., 82 of St. Clairsville, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, December 3, 2011 while at home and surrounded by his family.
He was born September 20, 1929 in Sanford, Maine, a son of the late Harry Earl Miller and Dorothy Dyer Miller.
George was a retired Truck Driver for St. Clair Auto Parts, a former employee of Riesbeck's Food Market, and a former inspector for Blaw Knox; he was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of the Korean War.
He has served his Lord as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher, and was currently serving on the Primetimers Committee at East Richland Evangelical Friends Church where he was a member.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Elizabeth Hall and Almira Jenkins.
Surviving are his wife, Jennie Pippin Miller; two sons, Brian (Terri Lynn) Miller and Bruce (Jeanie) Miller of St. Clairsville; a brother, Harry Miller of Belmont; four grandchildren, Christopher, Sara, Matthew, and Wesley; six great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Ickes and Rev. Jerry Wenger officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Belmont County Council of American Legions will provide full military honors at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
