George E. Miller, 83 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Forest Hill Retirement Community in St. Clairsville.

He was born November 15, 1926 in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late Howard Miller and Catherine Thompson Miller.

George was a retired machinist from Blaw Knox, a graduate of Wheeling High School and West Liberty College, a member of First Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville where he served as an Elder and Deacon, a U.S. Army veteran, a 50 year member of Belmont Lodge # 16 F&AM, 50 year member of Bridgeport #452 O.E.S., a life member of the Elks in Wheeling, Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville member, member of Osiris Temple of the Shrine in Wheeling where he served as the Commander of Legion of Honor and was a member of the Arab Patrol, Social Club, and Royal Order of Jesters, he was also a member of the El Tor Grotto in Wheeling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Mintzer, Jenny Jerrome, and Shirley Newman; a brother, Tom Miller.

Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Margaret Doty Miller; a sister, Aletha Rucki of St. Clairsville; brothers, Howard (Dolly) Miller of Pittsburgh, Robert Miller of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Monday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Homer Harden officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Belmont Lodge # 16 F. & A.M. will conduct Masonic services at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
