Geneva "Jean" Kowalewski, age 86, of Maynard Road, St. Clairsville, died Friday, October 14, 2005 at Bell Nursing Home. She was born December 13, 1918 in Maynard, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Mary Zaleski Kowalewski.
Jean was a retired employee of the former Pennsylvania Railroad, currently Amtrak. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Maynard.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley, Henry, Frank, Tony, Joseph and Kizer Kowalewski and sisters, Agnes Jacovetty, Josephine Kowalewski, Anna Wright, Stella DeMonte and Helen Kupczak.
Surviving are two sisters, Florence Delbridge of St. Clairsville and Marie Hitchcock of Wheeling; a brother, William Kowalewski of Cleveland and St. Clairsville; a special niece, Jean Strawn of St. Clairsville; many nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, with a vigil service scheduled for 3 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard with Fr. Thomas Graven the celebrant. Burial follows at Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville.
