Gary Gene Nester, 78, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Friday, September 19, 2025, at Forest Hill Care Center.

He was born March 2, 1947, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Michael Nester and Jennie Kocsis Nester.

Gary was a 1965 graduate of St. Clairsville High School. He was the former owner and operator of Jug Run Heat and Air. Gary enjoyed traveling with his wife Penny. His other interests included NASCAR racing and watching football.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Gay Peterson Nester; a brother, Anthony "Ted" Nester; two brother-in-law, Michael Evonek and a nephew, Michael Evonek.

Gary is survived by a brother, Michael "Mick" (Sandy) Nester; a sister, Yolonda Nester Evonek; nieces and nephews, Todd Nester, Stephanie (Shawn) Connors, Robert (Stefanie) Evonek, Lori Evonek (Jerry) Orr, Melissa (Ben) Porter, Christopher (Heather) Nester and Jason Nester; brother-in-law, Gary Peterson; sister-in-law, Denise Nester; several great nieces and great nephews; and a special friend who worked for Gary for many years and currently owns and operates Jug Run Heat and Air, Brian Darrah.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, on Wednesday from Noon until time of funeral services at 1 p.m., with Pastor Bill Wendell officiating.  The burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
