Danehart, Frederick Joseph, Sr., 55 of Belmont, Ohio lost his fight with Parkinson's Disease on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at his home while surrounded by his family.
He was born May 7, 1958 in Wheeling, WV., a son of the late Melvin Lee Danehart and Rose Marie Druschel Danehart.
Fred was a former corrections officer at Belmont Correctional Institution, a former supervisor for Coronet Foods and a Catholic.
He was a diehard Steeler fan and enjoyed softball, fishing, and spending time at the camp with friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Danehart.
Surviving are his wife, Garnet M. Mikel Danehart; five children, Jason M. (Lori) Danehart of Akron, Jennifer R. Danehart of Wheeling, Frederick J. (Tiffany) Danehart, Jr. of West Alexander, PA, Robert M. (Kendra) Danehart of Belmont, and Brandy N. (William) Meyers of Belmont; three sisters, Peggy (Paul) Marchlenski of Wheeling, Patricia Richmond of Wheeling, Anna (Gerry) Grinage of Valley Grove; a brother, Edward (Sherry) Danehart of Wheeling; 14 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Margie Carr officiating.
Burial follows in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
