Fred T. Nation Sr., 70, of Flushing, died Sunday, October 15, 2006 at the U.S. Veterans Hospital in Aspinwall, Pennsylvania.
He was born in Painesville, Ohio on February 27, 1936, son of Bernice Adams Nation Sines and the late John Thomas Nation.
Fred was a retired foreman from Y & O Coal Company, Nelms # 2 mine. He served in the Marine Corps and was a U.S. Army Paratrooper from 1958 to 1962. He was a Methodist by faith.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by, a sister, Mildred Marbais; a brother, Michael John Nation; a granddaughter, Annalisse Kalinowski; and stepfather, Oral Sines.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Bernice Sines; are his wife, Judi Mort Nation; children, Fred (Sonya) Nation Jr. of Neffs, Mary Wallace of Adena, Victor (Donna) Nation of St. Petersburg, Florida, Mitch (Deb) Kalinowski of Barton, Shawn (Brandy) Kalinowski of Flushing; a sister, Nancy (Frank) Betz of Canton and a brother, Lawrence Kratzer of California; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Al Hoder officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery, New Athens, Ohio with Full Military Graveside Honors conducted by the Belmont County Council of American Legions.
